Welcome to the Gourmandizing Gargoyle's lair.


Gargoyles greatly enjoy gourmet gastronomy.


We are - we admit it - not food professionals. Or even passable hobbyist chefs. Or particularly enjoy cooking at all. Or really make an effort of any sort. Gargoyles are quite lazy. There's a reason you mostly see gargoyles hanging out on top of buildings and occasionally spitting at passerbys.


We are, however, driven to finding fascinating flavor combinations, and failure can be as entertaining as success is delicious.


Which will most assuredly make this not your average food blog or recipe collection.


Food can be a source of comfort. Food can be a source of novelty. Food can be a source of joy, a means of connection, an exploration of heritage, a peek at possibilities, a discovery of the world and self-discovery. Food can be an excruciating chore, as one needs to have some multiple times a day whether one is up for dealing with it or not.


What passes for recipes will be recorded as dutifully as the frazzlement of the moment allows. Without step by step photos, unless a given step fails so spectacularly as to warrant being captured for audience amusement.


Gargoyles also have stacks of food restrictions and sensitivities, so some ingredients will be avoided, others will be substituted, and any recipe found online will be compared with half-dozen others, examined for similarities and differences, and ruthlessly adapted for being able to be consumed by a peculiar creature.


So, join me on a journey and enjoy the scenery (or laugh and point) as I attempt to eat, drink and be merry.
